FontMatch has no accounts and no database of visitors. Here is everything that happens with your data.

Images you upload

When you press “Identify font”, your image is resized in your browser and sent to our server, which forwards it to an AI model through Vercel AI Gateway for that single request. We don’t store the image or the result on our servers. Don’t upload images containing personal or confidential information.

Project descriptions

Text you type into the AI pairing box is handled the same way: sent for one request, not stored by us.

Stored in your browser

Your recent identifications (a small thumbnail and the result) and your saved font pairings are kept in your browser’s local storage so you can come back to them. They never leave your device. You can remove them here:

Fonts

Font previews are loaded from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com), which receives your IP address as part of the request. See Google’s privacy policy for details.

Analytics

We use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics service, to count page views. It does not use cookies or build profiles of individual visitors.

Rate limiting

To prevent abuse, our server briefly keeps a count of AI requests per IP address in memory. It is discarded within minutes and never written to disk.
